After years in industry as a finance director, Andrew Smith achieved his dream by purchasing the accountancy firm he trained at. Then, he had to make it a digital first practice.
When he took over what is now AG Smith & Co, Andrew’s vision was to transform a traditional practice into a modern, paperless, cloud-based firm. The advent of Making Tax Digital (MTD) provided the perfect catalyst and so the practice sought software that would not only transform the practice, but also allow it to support customers on their own digital journeys.
The practice had an established legacy of using Sage products and was keen to stay loyal to a partner it knew and trusted. To achieve a paperless office, AG Smith & Co migrated all accountancy processes to Sage Accounting; the cloud solution was easy to implement and almost instantly improved the way the company worked.
AG Smith & Co has transformed to become a truly digital first practice and thanks to Sage Accounting has halved the time taken to complete client accounts. The time released has been used to generate new revenue streams, particularly business advice, coaching and bookkeeping. The practice is now fully digital and paperless.
